E3 2015 - Ubisoft Press Conference Roundup

Aisha’s back with Ubisoft’s Press Conference, bringing all the expletives and canned friendship you could ask for! Check it out.

E3 2015 - Ubisoft Press Conference Roundup

South Park: The Fractured But Whole

Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the brains behind South Park are back despite vowing never to make another game again. Developed by Ubisoft San Francisco comes the sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth, where you will learn “Why your butthole is so special.”, playing as Superhero’s this time around.

Aisha then came out to address the… shall we say rocky year of Ubisoft game releases. She said that it felt like they were, “online teabagged” and that, “We listened to your feedback...”.

For Honor

Announced first with a cinematic trailer, that saw samurai, knights, and vikings cross blades, For Honor also showed some interesting gameplay footage. Vibrant blue knights rushed out from their defences, clashing swords with a sea of bright orange foes, in combat that didn’t not look unlike Dynasty Warriors. Though markedly more grounded. With the appearance of other players, things changed, moving into more choreographed duelling. Not much was said about the game’s nature, but some elements seemed reminiscent of the MOBA genre.

The Crew: Wilder Run

The Crew, a game which they call a, ‘fan favourite’ is get an expansion. Making the game wilder and faster. Oh and monster trucks.

Trials Fusion: Awesome Level Max

There was a cat riding a unicorn. What more do to want?

Tom Clancy’s: The Division

Ubisoft’s peerless ability to making human conversations sound utterly alien was on full display during the Tom Clancy’s: The Division demonstration. The footage had several high points, including; prisoners taking selfies in the snow, a wilhelm scream, and players ganging up on other players for their lunch money. But hey what goes around comes around, or so they say! A beta is inbound early next year, the game will be released March 8th 2016.

e3 2015 Anno 2205Anno 2205

“Pack up your astronaut diapers”, as Aisha Taylor said and get ready to colonise the Moon in Anno 2205’s beta later this year. The cinematic trailer showed developed Moon cities and there was some brief in-game footage of both, Earth and Moon settlements.

Aisha then went into the crowd to talk to a Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate cosplayer, demanding that he, “...come up with a meme right now...” to which he made a Star Trek reference. It was as uncomfortable and pointless as it sounds, like pretty much all the gags in this conference.

Just Dance 2016

Jason Derulo burst out on stage to do a live performance of one of his ‘hit’ songs, before it was announced that Just Dance 2016 is coming to the Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 and Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U in October 2015. With a new “Dance on Demand” exclusive streaming service for the current generation consoles.

e3 2015 Rainbow Six: SiegeRainbow Six: Siege

The Siege presentation opened with a cinematic trailer and a walk-on appearance of Angela Bassett, who is starring in the game as Rainbow’s handler. In addition to the single player campaign and the competitive multiplayer, Terrorist Hunt returns. Only this time with a cooler name; TerroHunt. The mode sets five players against AI combatants, there will be 4 different modes available. The TerroHunt gameplay consisted of a team of players assaulting a building, planting a diffuser on a terrorist bomb, then subsequently defending it against counter attacking foes. Plenty of destruction, grappling, and suicide bombers (conveniently wearing red flashing lights) were on offer. A beta lands September 24th, containing player vs. player and TerroHunt.

e3 2015 trackmania turbo Trackmania Turbo

Checkpoint! Vibrant and boisterous, Trackmania Turbo had an impressive showing of gameplay footage. Checkpoint! The game features split screen multiplayer and over 200 tracks. Checkpoint! It will be releasing on current generation consoles and PC. Checkpoint!

Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate

In stark contrast to the game’s rather rusty looking announcement trailer that used in-game footage, this trailer was cinematic and very much not in-engine. There was an orphanage, and kids, all presumably orphans because England was apparently full of them back then. The poster-bird eagle has been replaced with a crow and you appear to plays as a Victorian-era Robin Hood. Only E3 attendees are able to actually see the gameplay it seems.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands

The final game on Ubisoft’s card, despite being called ‘new’ looked remarkably like their other titles, namely Tom Clancy’s The Division. Nevertheless, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will feature a massive open world, filled with cocaine and Christian imagery by the looks of it. The demonstration saw a team of agents assault ‘White Hat’s’ drug compound in different ways; stealthy or loud. Clips showed all manner of environments, from lush jungles to snow-peaked mountains. Vehicles including; bikes, buggies, and helicopters could also be seen.
