Review - Warhammer 40,000: Deathwatch: Tyranid Invasion

Much like the Tyranids themselves, Warhammer/Warhammer 40,000 games continue to pour through our defences, and they are not all winners. Let’s hope the virulent taint hasn’t touched Deathwatch: Tyranid Invasion, the latest Warhammer 40,000 release.

This Week In Videogames – 19/07/2015

As anyone who visits the site can see at a glance, we don’t tend to cover that which passes for videogame news all that often. Nobody here is prepared to rewrite half a dozen press releases each day and honestly, most of that kind of news can be condensed into a single tweet or at most a few sentences. We only usually write news when we feel we can add something meaningful, whether it be our perspective or just more information. This weekly article – which may or may not surface again – is aimed to bridge our news rift; to gather the smaller stories from the previous week(ish), that we think are interesting, but don’t necessarily warrant a full article. So let's take a look back at the last week in videogames shall we?

GameDropZone Plays – Halo: Combat Evolved Multiplayer

A train wreck of a start to what promised to be a fun and wholesome trip through Halo history, the guys battle through the humid heat of a Northern European summer, to bring you the classic Halo: Combat Evolved multiplayer action. A word of warning; the content within is raw, probably offensive, and not at all on-topic. Enjoy!

Dropping In - Rocket League

Score early and coast through the rest of the match - that's how team sports work right? Right. Kyle puts this theory to the test in Rocket League, a fuel-burning rendition of the beautiful game.

Dropping In - PlanetSide 2

It all goes South when Kyle gets behind an unfathomable wheel and takes one too many wrong turns. Surrounded by words that shouldn't be said on air and questions he should really know the answer to, Kyle enlists the aid of Matthew to show off PlanetSide 2 on the PlayStation 4.

Dropping In - NotGTAV

Matthew and Kyle sample the hand-drawn art and mouth-made sounds of NotGTAV. This... game, a high concept parody may or may not be a poor adaptation of Snake, but at least it's for a good cause!

Dropping In - Rogue Invader Alpha Demo

Kyle and Matthew squeeze into humanity’s last remaining drop pod and take the fight to the unnerving Xenomorph cosplayers in the alpha demo of Rogue Invader. They may be neither Xenomorphs nor cosplayers but if you’re interested in this rather stunning looking roguelike, you can download the demo and learn more at IndieDB.

Review - Shingeki No Kyojin: Humanity In Chains

Any game that allows you to become a proud member of the Military Police Brigade and watch your misguided comrades in the Survey Corps be eaten alive by ravenous titans, was clearly going to catch my eye. But is it truly faithful to the Shingeki No Kyojin /Attack on Titan name, find out within.

After countless seasons of battle and hard campaigning I return with word of The Last Roman and for the most part, it’s pretty positive.
