Review – Assassin’s Creed Identity

If there’s one thing worse than Templars, it’s probably the Crows – your guess is as good as mine. And if there’s another thing, its escort missions, or maybe tailing mission, just a heads up, this game as plenty of both! Here are my thoughts on the latest entry in the Assassin’s Creed series.

This Week In Videogames – 28/02/2016

The moon wanes and demons threaten to pour forth in this week’s news, so hellish is its composition – also Nintendo and smiles! What? Don’t blame me for the uneven smattering of mood; videogames are in a weird place right now.

Let’s Play – The Division, Open Beta

The guys have a whale of a time on the dilapidated streets of New York in Tom Clancy’s The Division open beta, on the Xbox One. Glitches are found, the glass shattering technology is admired, and trendy coats are ogled.

The Dropkick: WWE FastLane 2016 - Roman Reigns is pulled over for speeding as he moves up the card too fast

We are on the 'FastLane' to Wrestlemania where I wish I could stop, pull over, take a break and watch some NXT instead. Last year saw the now retired Daniel Bryan lose to Roman Reigns in the Main Event, in order to put over Roman and make him look good going into his Main Event match t Wrestlemania... surely they cannot to the same thing with the NEW top Babyface, Dean Ambrose.... can they?

This Week In Videogames – 21/02/2016

Hmm do you smell that? It’s the scent of post-release support; to some it spells the beginning of the end for the industry, the foul reek of capitalism. To most though the smell is inoffensive and is either easily ignored, or else offers a reason to play more of a particular videogame. DLC ‘s most certainly the theme of this week’s news roundup!

Dropping In –Arslan: The Warriors of Legend

The guy’s get their anime on and take a look at Arslan: The Warriors of Legend, a game adaptation of an anime adaptation of a novel series, presented in Koei Tecmo’s tried and true hack n’ slash Warriors format.

Review – Arslan: The Warriors of Legend

There are few more delicious sensations than the discovery of a riveting new anime; it’s a taste, a flavour that, if one is not careful, can reduce your weekend to an unproductive puddle. Though in videogame form, Arslan can very much sparked that same ravenous anime hunger, here are my thoughts.

Dropping In – XCOM 2

It’s XCOM (2) baby! That means glitches, bugs, oh and numbers that lie to you. The guys jump into an early snowy mission of XCOM 2 and tactical blunders ensue!  If there was a Hague for aliens, that snake would be up for war crimes…

This Week In Videogames – 14/02/2016

There’s plenty of videogame love to go around this weekend, we’ve got stories from the degenerate streets of New York, the besieged Gothic Sector, Inabayama Castle, and more!

Review – XCOM 2

War-weary and emotionally scarred, I wrapped up my first game of XCOM 2 and hunkered down for a review, turns out I was hunkering a while… It’s a long review, a testament to the breadth of the XCOM 2 experience and subsequently, the range of my feelings on it.

XCOM 2’s Global Stats Are Pure Advent Propaganda

It doesn’t matter how many aliens we seem to blast, nor how many victories we win, the Speaker refuses to concede the point…

Dropping In – Tom Clancy’s The Division (Closed Beta)

Much to Matthew’s surprise, Kyle takes a break from talking smack about Ubisoft, to recount his decidedly positive time with The Division closed beta. Not being in the business of false advertising, it’s only fair to disclose that this video is all fridges and fashion, all the time.

Titanfall 2 Will Deliver A Single-Player Campaign, With Future TV Possibilities

Late last week Forbes posted an interview with Titanfall 2 lead writer Jesse Stern, revealing the broad direction of the upcoming Titanfall 2’s narrative, in addition to at least tentative plans of TV spinoff. Here are the details.

This Week In Videogames – 07/02/2016

Now more than ever I think we truly are in a great time for videogames, so much variety , so much quality that there’s always something new worth playing, no matter how much outright unfinished garbage Steam throws, or rather permits to be thrown our way. I feel it’s important to state such feelings in writing, because so often we spend our words tearing down that which doesn’t appeal, rather than uplifting that which does. Anyway, with that little tangent out of the way, here’s my news picks!

Dropping In – Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade (Early Access)

Grim, dark, and most definitely eternal, the guys pledge allegiance to mighty Lorgar and wage bloody war against the feckless puppets of the false God-Emperor. It’s Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade, which recently warped its way in Steam Early Access.

Dropping In – Tom Clancy’s EndWar Online

From the ashes of Paris, the last great general rises as the war devolves into an inexplicable conflict of arbitrary lane control, and yes, uplinks, so many uplinks… Battle is joined by Matthew who bashes on the original EndWar, and Kyle who revels in the sacking of the Civilisation series, however, both are united in their disinterest in Tom Clancy’s EndWar Online, which recently made its jump to Steam.

Dropping In – Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch, Rise of the Tomb Raider

Matthew’s recent infatuations manifest, Kyle feels no shame about buying pretty outfits, oh and Lara Croft lands herself in a mess of Slavic myth. Here’s a primer for Rise of the Tomb Raider’s latest DLC expansion; Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch, on the Xbox One. Warning, there is a minor, inconsequential spoiler for the main game within!
